Private Pay — Simple, Transparent, No Insurance Hassle.

No insurance forms. No Medicaid authorization delays. No broker in the middle deciding which vehicle shows up. Crown Care is private pay because that's the only way we can guarantee the quality of every ride. You get a personalized quote, you pay by card, and you get the exact service we described. That's it.

What Private Pay Actually Means — And Why It's Better for You.

Private pay means you pay directly for your ride. No insurance claim, no Medicaid preauthorization, no broker in the chain. You request a ride, we give you a personalized all-inclusive quote, you agree, and we dispatch the vehicle.

This isn't about being expensive. It's about control. When a ride goes through insurance or Medicaid, a broker decides which transport company gets the job — usually the cheapest one available. That company sends whatever vehicle they have. The driver might be great or might be brand-new. Nobody's accountable to you because you're not the customer — the broker is.

When you pay us directly, we're accountable to you. We choose the vehicle. We assign the driver. We set the standard. And if anything isn't right, you call us — the same team that dispatched the ride — and we fix it immediately. That's the difference private pay makes.

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. The most common way our patients and families pay. Card is charged after the ride is confirmed — never before you've agreed to the quote.

Debit Cards

Any debit card with a Visa or Mastercard logo is accepted. Processed the same way as a credit card — secure, immediate, with a receipt sent to your email.

Secure Processing

All payments are processed through secure, encrypted payment systems. Your card information is never stored by Crown Care — it's handled by our PCI-compliant payment processor.

Why We Don't Accept Insurance or Medicaid.

We get this question a lot, and we understand why. Insurance and Medicaid cover NEMT for millions of people, and that's a good thing. But the way that coverage works — through brokers who assign rides to the lowest-cost provider — creates exactly the problems that drove us to build Crown Care differently.

When rides go through brokers, the transport company doesn't choose its vehicles or drivers — the broker does, based on cost and availability. Training standards are minimal. Vehicle quality varies wildly. On-time performance suffers because the provider is juggling dozens of broker-assigned rides with razor-thin margins.

Private pay removes the broker entirely. We select the vehicle, we train the driver, we set the schedule, and we answer directly to you. The result is a fundamentally different experience — one that's reliable, dignified, and consistent every single time. That's the tradeoff, and our patients tell us it's worth it.

Volume Pricing for Recurring Riders and Facilities.

If you're booking rides regularly — dialysis three times a week, weekly therapy sessions, monthly specialist visits — or if you're a healthcare facility dispatching multiple transports daily, we offer customized pricing structures that reflect your volume. We don't publish rates because every situation is different: distance, vehicle type, frequency, and state all factor in. But the more consistently you ride with us, the more we can work with you on pricing.

Contact our coordination team to discuss your specific needs. We'll build a pricing structure that makes sense for your situation and volume.

FAQ

Payment Questions

Why doesn't Crown Care accept insurance or Medicaid?

Insurance and Medicaid reimbursement models route rides through brokers, which means we'd lose control over vehicle quality, driver training, and scheduling. Private pay lets us choose our vehicles, train our drivers, and dispatch directly — that's how we maintain the service quality our patients expect.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and debit cards. Payment is processed securely after you've agreed to the quote. You'll receive a receipt via email for every transaction.

Are there volume discounts for recurring rides?

Yes. Patients with recurring transport needs and healthcare facilities with regular volume can discuss customized pricing with our team. Contact us with your specific frequency and transport type, and we'll put together a structure that reflects your volume.
